Introduction to Farming Wisdom & XP

Farming is one of the steadiest progression tracks in Hypixel Skyblock. Whether you’re stacking coins through The Garden or pushing toward Farming 50, your hourly experience hinges on three levers: crop choice, crops per second (bps), and Farming Wisdom.

Use this page as a quick reference while you farm. On mobile, keep it open in a new tab so you can swap to the calculator without losing your inputs.

Before you start:

  • Note your total Farming Wisdom (through the nether star menu thingy or through tab).
  • Pick a route that keeps your bps stable (aim for 20 breaks per second).
  • Set a target level so you can check how long it'll take to reach

How Farming Wisdom and bps Affect XP

Farming Wisdom acts as a percentage bonus to base XP gained from crops. If you have 100 Wisdom, you earn roughly ~double the base XP from each harvest tick (or break) compared to 0 Wisdom.

Breaks per second (bps) tells you how many crops you break per second (duh). Cleaner corners, good speed/angle, and a large enough (infinite, optimally) garden size push this up. The calculator multiplies your crop’s XP value by bps and then by your Wisdom bonus to estimate your XP/hour.

Pre-run reminders:

  • Confirm your Wisdom with all active buffs.
  • Test your route for 30–60 seconds to get a realistic bps baseline.
  • Try to make your farm infinite: by the time you're back at the beginning, it should've already regrown.

Common Farming XP Questions (Fast Answers)

Q: “Which crop gives the most XP?”

A: Mushrooms are typically among the highest, pumpkins are strong and consistent, and most other crops cluster lower. Sugar Cane gives one of the lowest XP amounts, but you get double the xp per break (since if you break the middle cane, the top one breaks too), making it a good coin+xp balance.

Q: “Does Farming Fortune affect XP?”

A: No—Fortune affects drops/yield, not experience. Wisdom affects experience.

Q: “How accurate is the time-to-level?”

A: It’s an estimate based on your inputs. Real xp/hour can vary.

Comprehensive Farming XP Calculator

The calculator estimates your XP per hour from three inputs: crop, Farming Wisdom, and crops per second. It also gives a time-to-level from your current level to your selected target. It’s intentionally simple so you can adjust quickly mid-session.

Why Push Farming Wisdom?

Farming Wisdom Importance

Wisdom scales every tick of XP. Even small bumps compound over long sessions—turning the same route into noticeably higher xp/hour. If your route feels capped, upgrading Wisdom can move your ceiling without rewiring your farm.

What Affects Farming XP The Most?

Route quality and uptime. A top-tier crop on a sloppy route loses to a decent crop on a clean route. Your actual bps plus Wisdom make the biggest difference in the final number.

Garden layout indirectly help by keeping bps consistent and reducing moments where you slow down, turn poorly, or miss rows.

Does Farming Fortune Increase XP?

No. Farming Fortune multiplies yield (how many items you get), not experience. If your only goal is XP per hour, prioritize Farming Wisdom and a consistent, high-bps pattern.

Why Does My Live XP Differ From The Estimate?

The bps counter (if any) might be inaccurate.

Quick Start

1
Pick a crop

Choose the crop you can sustain without frequent replant interruptions.

2
Enter your Wisdom

Use your final Farming Wisdom after all buffs are active.

3
Sample your bps

Farm for ~60 seconds, count crops broken, divide by 60. Enter that value.

4
Set levels

Enter current and target levels to estimate time to reach your goal.

Read the result

You’ll see XP/sec, XP/min, XP/hour, and a time-to-level estimate.

Tips
  • Fortune doesn’t change XP; Wisdom does.
  • Most routes sit between 18-20 bps; the cap is 20.
  • Re-calculate if you change gear, pet, or route.

XP per crop varies; mushrooms are usually highest, pumpkins are strong and consistent.

Acts as a % bonus to XP gained.

Most routes: 18-20 bps. Capped at 20.

Set to 50 to see time from your current level.

How it's calculated

XP per crop × crops per second = base XP/sec

Final XP/sec = base × (1 + Wisdom/100)

XP/min = XP/sec × 60; XP/hour = XP/sec × 3600

Time-to-level = remaining XP to target ÷ XP/hour
